The Town of Dorset employs a Selectboard-Manager style of government, this form was set in place by the town in 1964. The Town Manager serves as a liaison between the daily operations of the town and the Selectboard.
In Dorset the Town Manager's office is responsible for administrative and fiscal oversight of town departments.
