Dorset-Manchester Pathway Scoping Study
The Town was awarded a $45,000 grant to complete a scoping study of the Route 30 corridor and determine feasibility of connecting Dorset Village to the Manchester Rail Trail with a shared use path on Route 30. Dubois & King has been awarded the contract to perform the scoping study, and work will start in July 2022.
The Town of Dorset is studying potential changes to create a safer cycling and walking connection between Dorset Village and the Town of Manchester. This summer and fall, the Town will be working with the Bennington County Regional Commission and Planners and Engineers from Dubois & King to assess potential options for adding dedicated space for walking and cycling in the public right of way along Route 30 and North Road. These improvements are envisioned to connect the Village of Dorset with the historic Marble Rail Trail, an existing off-street pathway that continues to the Town of Manchester.
